TARMAC

D. ZIMMER & B. HESS

Tarmac wardrobes can be created by placing units adjacent to

one another or a configuration can consist of combinations of

various elements arranged in an unstructured, airy fashion. Open

chests and lateral hanging rails make it possible to make active

use of all parts of chests, including sides. The concept of the

‘through hanging rail’ is particularly attractive for the bedroom: it

passes from piece to piece through a metal eyelet that echoes

the design of the handles. Because improvisation out of

necessity is the idea behind Tarmac, additions to units can be

made over time as the need becomes apparent.
